      His will is found in Bristol County, MA, [records of Probate, bol2, pages 125-126].
     
     
      "In the name and fear of God, Amen. I, William Throope, in Ye County of Bristol, yeoman, in the sixty-seventh year of my age and being under some indisposition of body, " etc.
      There are bequests to three sons, Dan, John and William, two eldest daughters, Mary, wife of John Barney, and Elizabeth, wife of Jonathan Peck, "youngest son Thomas," "two younger daughters Mercy and Lidiah," "loving and well-beloved wife Mary Throope sole executrix." He mentions "the remaining service of two Indian boys which may be unexpired at my decease."
      The will was marked signed 12 June 1704, but the heirs state in a petition to the Probate Court that the foregoing instrument was drawn abut five months before their father's death, and that although it was never signed, they are satisfied that it expresses the will of their father and they join in asking that it be admitted. This was signed by the heirs and widow and John Barney, Jonathan Peck, and Eleazer Carey, 1 January 1704, same records.

Submit was baptized at Bristol, 29 Dec, 1706, and Deborah, 29 March 1702.
     
     
      His will was dated 27 March, 1729, and probated 19 Dec, 1737. It names wife Deborah, sons Dan, Joseph, daughters Dorcas, Deborah, Submit; children of deceased son Samuel, viz.: Mary, Samuel, and Macy, and brother William Throop.
     
     
      His epitaph in the oldest cemetery in Lebanon is as follows: "Here lies the body of Mr. Dan Throope, who, while he lived discovered a very serious, generous and public spirit, and after a useful life, departed in ye comfortable hope of a better, thro ye useful life, departed in ye comfortable hope of a better, thro ye mercy of ye Lord Jesus, Dec 9, 1737, in ye 67th year of his age."
     
Dan was born in 1670 at Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of William Throop and Mary Chapman. His will, in Taunton Probate, book 3, part 1, pg. 21, made 15 Feb.,1710 and proved 12 March 1710: "My small farm of 35 acres bounded east on the highway, west partly by my son John, south and east by Joseph Church and north by Joseph Wilbore, with dwelling house that I now live in shall be sold. Also 24 acre lots 9, 10, and 11 and two 15 acre lots to daughters Elizabeth Blackman, Mary Wood, Deborah Gray and Abigail Simmons and to sons John and Joseph Church; to corner of brow of hill the land being near John Church and below William Simmons House; to daughter Elizabeth Blackman, wife of Joseph, one share; to daughter Mary Wood, wife of John, one share; to daughter Deborah Gray, wife of Samuel, one share; to daughter Abigail Simmons wife of William, one share; to Mary Torobono, that lives with me, the bed that she lies upon; to Indian boy Amos one half of 16 acre lot at Cokset.
     

Joseph was born in 1638 at Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Richard Church and Elizabeth Warren. He married Mary Tucker on 30 December 1660 at Hingham or Libble Compton, Rhode Island.2,3 Joseph died on 5 March 1711/12 at Little Compton, Rhode Island.1

      Richard Church , carpenter, first appeared in New England records on 19 oct. 1630 when he desired to be made a freeman of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He was apparently living in Wessagusset (later called Weymouth) at that time. He had moved to Plymouth by 6 Feb 1631 as stated in William Bradford's letter of that date.
     
     
      He apparently came to America in the fleet with John Winthrop in 1630. His will, made 25 Dec. 1668; "I Richard Church of Hingham, in the county of Suffolk in New England, thro the goodness and mercy of God, having my perfect understanding yet by Providence of God, at present, visited by sickness of body, and how soon my change may come, I now therefore order this my last will and testament as follows. First I commit my soul unto Jesus Christ my Redeemer and my body to the dust from whence it came, and my mind and will is, that after the decease of my body, and the decent burial thereof , a true inventory of my estate in the portion of goods of this world, that the Lord hath lent me, my bee made and all my just debts due out of the same bee paid. And my mind and will is that my beloved wife Elizabeth Church shall enjoy the remainder during her natural life, and when it shall please God that see leave this natural life, my mind and will is that what estate I shall leave to her, that shall not be necessarily expanded for her maintenance, shall then be equally divided amongst my children, only my son Joseph to have a double portion, that is twice so much as any one of the rest of my children, by reason of the lameness of his hand, whereby he is disassembled above the rest of my children, for the getting of alively-hood and that this my last will maybe well and truly performed as is above expressed. I doe nominate, appoint and ordain my sonne Joseph to be sole executor to doe all thing s required of an executor, according to the laws of this jurisdiction.
