     Count of Poitou 1086-1126, Duke of Aqutaine, crusader 1101, first known singer-poet in the vernacular. was born circa 22 October 1071.¹ He was the son of Geoffrey or William VI Count of Poitou and Hildegarde or Aldegarde. He married Philippa or (Mathilda) of Toulouse in 1094.¹ died between 10 February 1126 and 1127.¹

     Philippa was born. She married William VII of Poitou and IX of Aquitaine in 1094.¹ Philippa died.

     Geoffrey was born. He was the son of (?) William III Count of Poitou, Duke of Aquitaine. He married Hildegarde or Aldegarde between 1068 and 1069.¹ Geoffrey died.

     (?) William III Count of Poitou, Duke of Aquitaine was the son of (?) William II Count of Poitou. (?) died.

     (?) William II Count of Poitou was the son of (?) William I of Poitou and Gerloc or Ade`le. (?) died.

     Hildegarde or Aldegarde was the daughter of (?) Robert The Old Duke of Burgundy and Hélie. She married Geoffrey or William VI Count of Poitou between 1068 and 1069.¹ Hildegarde died after 1104.¹

     (?) was born circa 1011.¹ He was the son of (?) Robert II [King of France] and Constance of Provence. He married Hélie in 1033.¹ (?) died between 1075 and 1076.¹

     Hélie was the daughter of Dalmas I of Semur-en-Auxois and Aremburge. She married (?) Robert The Old Duke of Burgundy in 1033.¹ Hélie died.

     Beatrice of Savoy was the daughter of Thomas I Count of Savoy. She married Raymond Berenger V Count of Provence in June 1219 or December 1220.¹ Beatrice died in 1266.

     (?) Alfonso Count of Provence was the son of (?) Alfonso II King of Aragon and Sancha of Castile. He married Gersenda II of Sabran in 1193.¹ (?) died.¹

     Gersenda II of Sabran was the daughter of (?) Rainou Count of Forcalquier. died. She married (?) Alfonso Count of Provence in 1193.¹

     (?) was born on 4 April 1152.¹ He was the son of Raymond Berenger IV Marquis of Barcelona and Petronilla of Aragon. He married Sancha of Castile on 19 January 1174.¹ (?) died on 25 April 1196 at age 44.¹

     She married (?) Alfonso II King of Aragon on 19 January 1174.¹ Sancha died in 1208.¹

     Humphrey was born circa 1249.¹ He was the son of Humphrey de Bohun VI Earl of Hereford and Eleanor de Braiose. He married Maud de Fiennes in 1275.¹ Humphrey died on 31 December 1298.¹

     Maud de Fiennes was the daughter of Ingelram de Fiennes. Maud died. She married Humphrey de Bohun VII Earl of Herford and Essex in 1275.¹

     Humphrey de Bohun VI Earl of Hereford was the son of Humphrey de Bohun V Earl of Hereford and Maud D`eu or deLusignan. He married Eleanor de Braiose between 15 February 1247 and 1248. Humphrey died on 27 October 1265.¹

     Eleanor de Braiose was the daughter of William de Braiose and Eve or Eva Marshal. Eleanor died. She married Humphrey de Bohun VI Earl of Hereford between 15 February 1247 and 1248.

     Ingelram died.

     He married Maud D`eu or deLusignan.¹ Humphrey was born by 1208.¹ He was the son of Henry de Bohun Magna Charta Surety - 1215 and Maud Fitz Geoffrey de Mandeville. Humphrey died on 24 September 1275.¹

     She married Humphrey de Bohun V Earl of Hereford.¹ Maud died.¹

     Magna Charta Surety, 1215, Sheriff of Kent, 5th Earl of Hereford, 1200, Hereditary Constable of England. HENRY de BOHUN, the Surety, was born before 1177. He became the first Earl of Hereford of this family, for he was so created by the Charter of King John, dated 28 April 1199. Even though he took the Barons' side against the King, on becoming Earl of Hereford he had promised that he would never make any claim against John or his heirs, on the basis of a Charter given to his great uncle Roger by Henry II. The office of Lord High Constable of England he inherited from his father, but he seems to have played no other active part in John's government. As he took a prominent part with the Barons against King John, his lands were confiscated, but he received them again at the granting of Magna Charta. Having been excommunicated along with the other Barons, he did not return to his allegiance on the decease of King John, but became one of the commanders in the Army of Louis the Dauphin, at the Battle of Lincoln, and was taken prisoner by William Marshall. After this defeat he joined Saire de Quincey and other Magna Charta Barons in a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 1220, and died on the passage 1 June 1220. His body was brought home and buried in the chapter-house of Llanthony Abbey in Gloucestershire.
His wife, Maud FitzGeoffrey, was the daughter of Geoffrey FitzPiers, Baron de Mandeville, and his first wife, Beatrix Saye.
The name of Bohun suggests Hereford. Unfortunately, Hereford Castle no longer exists. It was built in 1048, and apparently consisted of a moat and bailey. The mound has been leveled to the ground, but the bailey is outlined by high banks. One report has it that all that remains is a platform and a piece of a ditch.
The Castle was once situated near the present Bishop's Palace. It was seriously battered in an attack in 1055, but it was restored, and was again in use in 1067. The site which it now occupies is a public garden, gay with shrubbery and flowers. An ornamental lake indicates where once was the moat, but the outlines of the walls are shown only by grass covered ridges.
