     Richard was born in 1622 at Pitminster, South Trendle, county Somerset, England.¹ He was the son of Richard Treat and Alice Gaylard. He married Sarah Coleman circa 1661 at Wethersfield, Connecticut.² Richard died circa 1693 at Wethersfield, Connecticut.³

     Sarah was born circa 1639 at Wethersfield, Connecticut.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Coleman and NN---- NN----. She married Richard Treat circa 1661 at Wethersfield, Connecticut.² Sarah died 23 August 1734 age 92 at Rocky Hill, Wethersfield, Connecticut.³

     Thomas was born circa 1600 at Evesham, co. Worcester, England.¹ Thomas immigrated to (an unknown value) circa 1634.² He married NN---- NN---- before 1635 at Wethersfield, Connecticut.^3,4 Thomas died on 1 October 1674 at Hadley, Connecticut.⁵

     Richard was born on 28 August 1584 at Pitminster, South Trendle, county Somerset, England.¹ He was the son of Robert Trott and Honora (Honour) NN----. He married Alice Gaylard on 27 April 1615 at Pitminster, South Trendle, county Somerset, England.^2,3 Richard immigrated to (an unknown value) after 1637/38.
     
     
      Richard Treat was born in Pitminster, probably in the hamlet of South Trendle, now the parish of Trull, Somerset, England. He was baptized under the name of Trott, married under the name of Trett, his children were baptized by the names of Trott and Tratt, and we was called Treat when he died.
     
     
      Mr. Treat must have been a man of high social standing and much influence in the town of Wethersfield, and in the colony of Connecticut. This is evident from the various positions of trust occupied by him. Titles once something. Not ever one as at the present day, had Esq. attached to their names. Even the prefix Mr. or Master was a mark of importance. It was then a title fully as high as Honorable is now. Generally speaking, not more than five freemen in a hundred had the title of Mr. and very few of the duties and magistrates.
     
     
      Mr. Treat was also a man of considerable wealth for those times and an extensive land owner in Wethersfield. At the laying out of the Nabue farms, which consisted of lands on the east side of Connecticut river, within the limits of what was then Wethersfield, but now Glastonbury, in 1640, or as early as 1639 the town gave him a large tract of land, lot NO. 36,310 rods wide by the river, computing south from Roaring Brook, and extending back a long ways into the wilderness, some three miles. The exact size of this "farm of Nabue", and long know as the "Treat Farm".

      He was Bench & Bar between 1644 and 1665 at Deputy General Court 1644-1657 ~Magistrate 1657-1665, Connecticut. Richard died in 1669 at Wethersfield, Connecticut.^4,5

His body was interred on 21 October 1614 at Pitminster, South Trendle, county Somerset, England.^2,3
